Music & the Mind
Talk • Experience • Curiosity
What really happens inside us when music moves us?
In this playful, immersive session, hypnotherapist and musician Adam Pearson explores how sound shapes the brain, the body and the stories we tell ourselves. From brainwaves to goosebumps, Adam blends neuroscience, psychology and live musical moments to reveal why certain songs lift us, calm us, or bring us suddenly back to a forgotten memory.
You’ll discover how rhythm affects the nervous system, how melody can change mood in seconds, and why improvisation might be one of the most powerful tools for mental wellbeing. Expect live trumpet, surprising insights, gentle hypnosis, and moments of collective awe — where science meets soul.
Trumpet & Tide — Live at Verve
Music • Flow • Deep Listening
Alongside his talks, Adam brings Trumpet & Tide to Verve: a series of live, looping trumpet journeys inspired by the sea, breath, and the changing tides of emotion.
Using trumpet, flugelhorn, live loops and subtle electronics, Adam creates spacious, cinematic soundscapes that invite listeners into stillness, flow and inner movement. These are not just performances — they are experiences designed to slow you down, open you up, and help you feel more at home in yourself.
Rooted in Newquay and inspired by the ocean, Trumpet & Tide also honours The Wave Project, reflecting Adam’s wider mission: using music, presence and creativity to support confidence, connection and mental wellbeing.
Come and listen.
Come and breathe.
Let the music move you.
